LEON VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
This historic preservation project will cost some $600,000 to completion. The two-story limestone homestead, detached cookhouse to the stacked stone barn have had been restored through Phase 2 at cost of $135,000 in "matching" grants from San Antonio Conservation Society, Texas Preservation Trust, fundraisers, individuals, memorials and business donations. Upon the completion the site will be utilized as a living history museum, education and nature center depicting early Texas life. LOS LEONES ART FESTIVAL
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Los Leones holds its annual event at the Leon Valley Community Center and will feature over 2500 pieces of high quality student artwork. Los Leones, in its tenth year, is where North-side students can show and sell their artwork and enjoy music, food, a chalk-fest, demonstrations by professional artists, balloon art, and costumed characters. Admission is free, and there will be a free shuttle bus from Leon Valley ES.
